Kim And Glenn's Wonderful Wedding at Duke Gardens!

Marty and I arrived at Duke Gardens amphitheater for Kim and Glenn's wedding on Saturday June 26, 2010. It was pretty hot but there was at least a breeze. The gardens were beautiful. We have been living in a greenhouse environment with the heat and humidity and the plants love it! Kim and Glenn had a lovely wedding with their family and friends. They wanted a short ceremony so it was about 15 minutes.
After I processed in, Glenn escorted his mother, Mary, in and then stood with me. The groomsmen and fathers and ushers were all wearing handsome beige suits, perfect for a summer wedding and they went so well with the sage green of the bridesmaids dresses.
Brother of the bride, Scott, our "bridesman," escorted in his mother, Mary Ann, who is, of course, the Mother of the Bride,  and then took his place up front.
Next our "groomsmaid," Jill and groomsman, Brian, entered and took their places. I think Brian is Glenn's younger brother, but I am not sure. They are related though.
Best Man, Michael, and Maid of Honor, Sara, entered. You can see the evidence of the breeze in Sara's skirt. It felt so nice!
Jeanette, our honorary director, sends Ian and Mia (brother and sister) down the aisle and they made it all the way. Two other children, Kaylee and Brandon were supposed to be with them but they balked at the last minute and sat out! Jeanette, you did such a great job!
Mia was wearing the cutest white sneakers with frilly socks but you can't see them in this picture.
Everyone please stand in honor of our beautiful bride! Kim was beaming and her gown was gorgeous. Her father was right proud too, but a little nervous. He made it though!
"Who presents this woman to be married to this man?" "Her mother and I do." Thank you, you may be seated.
Our readers, Mary Ann and Amy, presented "A Blessing for a Wedding" by Unity minister, James Dillett Freeman.
I am telling their story here. It was quite amusing and everyone loved it. These two are quite a match. They met on-line and were very cautious in meeting face to face but soon realized how compatible they were. Their first date was at a very public place, the RBC Hockey Arena. Glenn figured he could at least watch a good hockey game if the date did not work out... but it did, big time! They got engaged on the beaches of Hawaii. How romantic can you get? What a great couple they are!
Kim had to work to get that ring on Glenn's finger! I think the heat made his fingers swell some. But she got it on!
At last the pronouncement.
And the kiss! I made them kiss twice because the first one was too quick! They did not mind a bit!
Okay, it's done! Time to have some fun and celebrate. Glenn and Kim, congratulations on your marriage and terrific wedding. I know you have a bright and happy future together!

Thank you to Randy Bennett of Joe Bunn DJ Company for providing the ceremony and reception music and plugging my microphone into his system. Always a pleasure to work with Randy.

Jeffery Minnish was our photographer. I have not worked with Jeffery before but he was very accommodating to me and Marty and my camera! Thanks, Jeffery. I look forward to seeing your photos of this wedding.

The English Garden did the beautiful flowers and Durham Catering provided the delicious fare. American Party Rentals were in charge of the tables and chairs and such. Capital Style furnished the transportation.
